New T-Mobile cell phones are loaded with features and, most importantly, are equipped for Internet and Web browsing capabilities. It can be confusing what T-MobileWeb actually is, because T-Mobile has repeatedly changed the name of this service. T-MobileWeb is currently known as web2go, but is also commonly referred to as T-Zones. The options available to you will vary depending upon the data plan to which you subscribe. In the past, T-Mobile offered T-Mobile Web and T-MobileWeb Pro and provided full Internet access. These data plans are now only available to previous subscribers. The new data plan being marketed as of March 2010 is called web2go.
T-Mobile phones with browser capabilities can potentially access the Internet, view account information, view and send E-mail and purchase downloads. You can access the web2go server free of charge, but many of the features available will cost you or require you to choose an available data plan. There are 3 main pages you can navigate between when you first open your browser: Web, Downloads and My Account (refer to your phone's User Guide for information on accessing the browser). The "Web" tab has several links to sites, called T-Zones, that are able to be viewed free of charge while others will require additional subscription plans. The "Downloads" tab contains media pertinent for a cell phone available to purchase, and the "My Account" tab allows you to view and change your current plans and rates.
As a Global System for Mobile Communications, or GSM, company, T-Mobile USA uses Subscriber Identity Model, or SIM, cards to identify handsets in its network. To protect its investment, the company locks out other companies' SIM cards from its handsets. To unlock a T-Mobile USA mobile phone, you need the unique SIM unlock code associated with your handset. T-Mobile USA offers these unlock codes free of charge to its current and former customers.
